As a developer, you know you have done well when an area starts to be known by the shopping center you've developed. Thats how it is with the Kierland area, which is in North Scottsdale (though technically south of the 101) near Greenway Road and Scottsdale Road.

But in all fairness, Kierland was so nicely developed that you can see why an area might attach itself as it did. Kierland Commons is an outdoor shopping center with an eclectic mix of boutiques, restaurants, and nationally known chain stores. Kierland Commons promoters also work hard to keep you coming back, with events such as celebrity chef appearances, concerts, and food and wine tastings. Across from Scottsdale Road is the Scottsdale Quarter, which has even more restaurants and shopping, along with a high-end movie theater.

If you want to live next to all of that, buy at the Plaza Lofts, but you'll for the privilege of being steps away from shopping. However, if you can handle a longer walk, there are several other condo communities nearby.Also in the area is the Westin Kierland and the Kierland golf course, which is open to the public.
